Fire damages 7 mln. Birr worth property

Harari town center market - Shoa Ber
Fire accident destroyed seven million Birr worth property in Harar Town. Harari State Wednesday night amid the town’s market center locally called Shoa Ber.
Town Police Commissioner, Bekri Mohammed told ENA that the fire continued to wreak havoc from 10:30 PM local time until Thursday morning in the market. So far no human causality reported.
Bekri said lack of running water in the town made the extinguishing effort very difficult.
Fire brigades from Diredawa Town, Police Commissions of Oromia and Somali States, the Federal Police, the Ethiopian Air Ports Enterprise , members of the Defense Force and the public, have participated in the efforts to put the fire under control.
Bekri said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
